Re-Election Thoughts

I think if I'd had my druthers, I would have said I was standing for re-election, not "running." I am willing to continue to serve. My attached campaign announcement explains why I believe I am serving a vital role. But somehow, running for re-election after 8 years in office makes it sound as though I have to convince you to vote for me. I shouldn't need to: if you are reading this, you probably already know me well enough that you are either comfortable about the way I serve, or you want something different, and that would be fine with me. There should always be a choice.
It isn't going to work that way this year, since I am uncontested. What I can and will say is that I will continue to work my hardest to keep you informed and to fight to keep common sense in our House of Representatives.
